Chapter 3 Interventionists

Thoughts: In this work of art, the artist uses tents and sleeping bags in order to create a small, but sufficient place for the homeless to sleep. With this these people would be sleeping outside in the cold. Also, it shows even the poor can live comfortably.
Quote: "Rubén Ortiz-Torres has produced a
series of baseball hats that, through the re-arrangement of their
insignias, produce new, culturally charged meanings."
Thoughts: These hat can represent the nationality of a person. Similar to how many would buy flag of their country to show pride and support, this is a better way to show your ethnicity. Not only that, but it could show being proud of the ethnicity that a person represents.
Artist: One artist that I feel inspired is the artist Lucy Orta because this artist shows that she cares about the homeless. For some people they would look at the homeless and not do anything to help them, with food or clothes. With this Refuge Wears series it feels like it a better way for them to stay warm and comfortable to sleep.
