Chapter 6
"Considering that most of us grow up surround by an overbearing culture of advertising, it is critical that we think of ourselves as shifting creatures, so that we can escape the conservative teleology under which we brought up."
As human beings we are always adapting and changing according to our surroundings. Advertising is one of the many ways which is used to teach people about their health by showing the good point of their product ,which is good for one's health. As a matter of fact , advertising influences people by making good impressions that can persuade them.
"The sense of urgency forces people to move past their comfort zones into unfamiliar territory for the political necessities of working with a larger group."
People work together as soon as a crisis ensues. We talk about issues like gentrification and AIDS but don't really do anything about unless it's happening to us or someone we know. It then becomes an urgency. Gentrification battles gain speed when people begin to lose their homes and AIDS activism picked up momentum when friends and loved ones were dying.
